Reduce noise around speech
Use the AI audio filter for podcast dialogue affected by fan hum, air conditioning, electrical buzz, wind or mic hiss. It identifies the voice and lowers steady background noise without simply muting quiet passages.
AI AUDIO FILTER
Use this free online MP3 voice filter to reduce background noise in spoken recordings. Add an MP3 or another supported audio file, compare the original with the cleaned voice, then download the result. The AI noise reducer runs in your browser and works best on speech. Recordings up to 5 minutes.
LOCAL AUDIO LAB
Record straight into Audiofilter and clean the take on the spot. The audio stays on your device.

PODCAST AUDIO CLEANUP
Use the AI audio filter for podcast dialogue affected by fan hum, air conditioning, electrical buzz, wind or mic hiss. It identifies the voice and lowers steady background noise without simply muting quiet passages.
Preview the original and cleaned waveforms on one timeline. Start with Medium, then adjust the audio filter strength if a guest sounds processed or if room noise remains between words.
Download the cleaned result as WAV, MP3 or AAC for your editor. Because this AI audio filter for podcast production runs locally, raw interviews and unreleased episodes never leave your device.
WHAT IT TAKES OUT
It is a speech cleanup tool, not a restoration suite: it will not remove echo or room reverb, separate two people talking over each other, or split music into stems.
WHAT IS UNDER THE HOOD
It is compiled to WebAssembly and runs on your own device — which is what makes noise suppression of this class possible in a browser tab rather than behind an upload form. Nothing about your recording is sent anywhere.
DeepFilterNet is open source under the MIT and Apache-2.0 licences, © 2021 Hendrik Schröter. Both licence texts ship alongside the engine on this site.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yes. Audiofilter asks for no account, no sign-up and adds no watermark. The tool is a static web page, so you can clean as many recordings as your device can handle.
No. Decoding, AI inference and export all happen inside your browser through Web Audio and WebAssembly. Audiofilter never sends your audio anywhere, and the data is released the moment you close or reload the tab.
You can load any format your browser can decode, including MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG. Cleaned audio can be exported as PCM WAV, MP3 or AAC.
Audio must be 5 minutes or shorter, and under 300 MB. Anything longer is rejected before processing starts: everything runs on your own CPU and memory, and a long file would exhaust the browser tab. Trim the recording and clean it in parts.
Fine-tune sets the noise attenuation limit in decibels. It caps how much noise the model may remove so that over-suppression does not distort speech. Post-filter Beta controls how strongly the post-processing stage is applied after the model runs.
It targets background noise around speech: air conditioning and fan hum, electrical buzz, wind, room tone, desk vibration and keyboard clicks. It is a speech cleanup tool, not a stem splitter, so it will not separate overlapping speakers or extract vocals from music.
No. This is a noise remover, not a de-reverb tool. It suppresses noise sitting behind the voice, but echo and room reverb are copies of the voice itself, so the model cannot separate them out. Recording closer to the microphone, or in a smaller and softer room, is what fixes reverb.
Yes. This AI audio filter for podcast and remote interview recordings accepts MP3, WAV, M4A and other formats your browser can decode. Drop in the recording, choose a reduction level and download the cleaned track. It is useful for laptop fan noise, air conditioning, hum and hiss around spoken dialogue.
That is what over-suppression sounds like, and the Fine-tune control exists to prevent it. It caps how many decibels of noise the model may remove, so you can back the reduction off until the voice sounds natural again. Start with Medium and lower Fine-tune if you hear artefacts.
After the first visit, yes in practice. The AI model is fetched once and reused from the browser cache, and no step of the cleanup contacts a server, so a cached tab keeps working without a connection.
Any recent desktop or mobile browser with WebAssembly support, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The AI model is fetched once and then reused from the browser cache.
