How to use this tool
Choose one recording. Drag the start and end handles, or enter times in seconds. Keep selection exports only the highlighted region. Cut out selection removes that region and joins what remains. Reset selection restores the complete recording.
Local processing and sound quality
Recordings stay on your device. A local WebAssembly engine processes the audio, and preview and download use the same result. Files are decoded in browser memory; the amount you can edit depends on your device. WAV avoids an extra lossy encoding step. MP3 and AAC use lossy compression. These tools and all exports are free.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between trimming and cutting out a section?
Keep selection saves only the highlighted segment. Cut out selection deletes the highlighted segment and joins the audio before and after it. The original file remains on your device unchanged.
Can I adjust the cut using the keyboard?
Yes. Focus either waveform handle and use the arrow keys to move it. Hold Shift for larger steps. The Start and End time fields also allow precise numerical adjustments.
