Moises is a musician's platform — apps on phone and desktop, a library of your tracks, a subscription and an account. Audiofilter is one page in a browser that splits a track and forgets it.
If you practise with backing tracks on your phone and want them saved and synced, Moises is built for that and this is not. If you want to split a file right now without an account and without it leaving your machine, this is the swap.
Why people look for an alternative
The account and the subscription. Moises requires an account to use at all, and its full pricing table is only visible after you log in. Its own FAQ describes the free tier as "a limited number of uploads each month, with access to a select set of features," with full functionality on a paid subscription. For someone who wants to split one track, that is a signup, a plan comparison and a monthly decision before anything happens.
The upload. Moises states plainly that it will never train on your data, and there is no reason to doubt it — but the file still goes to their servers to be processed. Whether that matters depends entirely on the material. For an unreleased mix or a client's session it often does.
The difference in shape, not just features
These are not the same kind of product. Moises is a platform: it keeps your library, syncs across your phone, tablet and desktop, and surrounds separation with the rest of a practice workflow. That is a real thing to build and a real thing to pay for.
Audiofilter is a single-purpose page. It has no library because it has no account, no sync because there is nothing stored, and no app because it runs in the browser tab you already have open. Fewer capabilities, and that is the point — there is nothing between the file and the result.

When to use Moises instead
- You practise with backing tracks regularly. A saved library that follows you between phone and laptop is the whole value, and we have no equivalent.
- You want it on your phone. Real native apps beat a browser tab on mobile, and separation on a phone's processor is exactly the case our approach handles worst.
- You want more than two stems.
- Full-length tracks matter. Five minutes is a real constraint here and not one there.
- You want the surrounding musician tools rather than separation on its own.
When to use Audiofilter instead
- You want to split one track, now. No signup, no plan comparison, no verification email.
- The file should not be uploaded. Not a question of trust — a question of the file never being transmitted at all.
- You do not need a library. Most people separating a track want the two files and nothing else.
- You would rather not have a subscription for something you do a few times a month.
Switching
Nothing to migrate, and nothing to cancel on our side because there is nothing to sign up for. If you keep a Moises subscription for practice and use this for the occasional private file, that is a reasonable arrangement and not a contradiction.
Frequently asked questions
Is Audiofilter free without an account?
Yes. There is no signup anywhere on the site, no email capture and no paid tier. See Pricing.
Does Audiofilter have a mobile app?
No, and a browser tab on a phone is the weakest case for this approach — separation runs on the device's own processor. On a phone, a server-side tool such as Moises will be faster.
Can I keep a library of my separated tracks?
No. Nothing is stored, on our side or in your browser, beyond the downloaded model files. Download what you want to keep before closing the tab.
Does Audiofilter upload my audio anywhere?
No. The model runs in your browser, on your device. Open the network tab before processing a file to confirm it.
